چکیده
Simple bone cysts are common, benign, fluid-filled, cystic lesions that occur mostly in the metaphysis of the long bones and are rarely found in vertebrae. A case of a simple bone cyst in the spinous process of the fourth cervical vertebra in a 26-year-old woman is reported. According to the radiologic findings, the lesion was identified as a simple bone cyst, and the diagnosis was verified by surgical and histopathologic examinations.

متن کاملSPINA BIFIDA OCCULTA WITH ENGAGEMENT OF THE FIFTH LUMBAR SPINOUS PROCESS A Cause of Low Back Pain and Sciatica
Although spina bifida occulta has often been blamed in the past for backache and sciatica, I have believed neither that it was a common source of these troubles, nor that the fibrous band that closes the sacral breach is a cause of nerve root compression, as has been suggested by some authors. I have often explored a concomitant sacral defect while operating for a disc lesion, and have never fo...
متن کاملA duplicated spinous process of the C7 vertebra.
Normally the 7th cervical vertebra (C7) has a long non-bifid spine. A bifid spine is a feature of typical cervical vertebrae such as C3--C6. In contrast to past studies, which have described a bifid spine in the C3--C6 cervical vertebrae, this study is a report on the presence of a duplicated spinous process in the C7 vertebra with an intervening space. The presence of such anomalies may be ass...
